    Maybe one for Za

A contact on another forum dived on this aircraft a few months ago and wanted to know more details ...

During WW2 a Coastal Command B-24 Liberator ditched about 4 miles south of Faro, Portugal. Low on fuel with Portugal being neutral during the war it was allowed to land to refuel only. However Faro then was too small to take the aircraft therefore the crew decided to ditch in the sea and were picked up by local fishermen but apparently not all the crew made it.

Looking for date of loss and details of aircraft and crew.

Thought I had seen mention of this on the forum in the past but cannot find it.

    Regards
    Peter
