If you are curious about my atavar, it is a detail of the nose art of a B17 called Miss ++++++, which is still flying in the US.

The photograph is one of a set taken by Whiskey-Brother, an active member of the Historic-Battles forum, and I am using it with his permission.

You can see the full set at:

My father had a great interest in aviation throughout his life and, as a member of the WWII generation of Brits, was critical of the B17 for its small bombload compared to the Lancaster. Of course this is true, it did carry less bombs, but it was designed to carry out daylight bombing and fight its way through to the target, so the two are not really comparable. I think it was a superb aircraft.

I wish this didn't happen and I would like to know how to stop it. The word is:

    A
    n
    g
    e
    l
    a

...which is my real first name.
