This is a link to the video I shot of my father Harold Pitt recounting his experiences as a POW at Bau und Arbeits Battalion 21 (BAB 21) Blechhammer and about "The Long March" to Moosburg and eventual liberation by the American Army in 1945.
There are many personal stories and names mentioned which might be of value to those whose relatives never spoke about their years in captivity or who never returned.

That is a really super video thanks for letting me listen to your Dads memories. My Dad was also in BAB21, Gnr Steel Smith RA Field, POW 5941 captured in France 1940.

    What a superb video David!
A great shame more people haven't recorded their relatives recollections.
Your Father looked like he enjoyed sharing his memories wth you.

Many thanks for your kind comments.
My old Dad passed on in April 2011 aged 93 but I am certain he would be so pleased you have enjoyed his recollections as an ordinary man coping with extraordinary circumstances just the same as every one else.
We enjoyed chatting away exactly as we always did as long as I can remember.
