Earlier this month, my new book was published. Battle of Burp Gun Corner Walka Publishing The battle was fought by Glider Pilots of the 435th Troop Carrier Group after they landed their gliders near Wesel, Germany, during Operation Varsity. That night, they got involved in a battle with retreating Geran troops. The book has 91 pages and approx. 140 photos, of which most of them never published before. the price would be approx. €30 For US market, drop a line at marketc47ATgmail.com AT=@ Hans
Hello Market. congrats on the book. Just wondering whether the German 'round the corner" street fighting attachment to rifles , whether it saw any use during 'Varsity'. Did the Germans comment favourably on it's effectiveness? Or did they give it the 'thumbs down?" Interesting, and no modern producer to my knowledge has re-animated the idea for use by allied troops, so it must have been a failure? Yes? And if it was a success, why hasn't it been replicated? With a title like '...Burp gun corner" I couldn't help but ask a small arms related question.
