This book has just arrived and before ordering it I was thinking to myself just how many books does there need to be on a ship that was operational for such a short time but now it is in my hands it looks like it could be the book to have on the ship. Instead of describing in detail what it covers I will attach a photo of the contents page:



The book is well produced (the usual Seaforth standard) and looks to be a good balance of narrative, models, period photos and line drawings, both of the ship in as built condition and also showing the battle damage and how she looks now. It also incorporates images of the ship from the expedition to find the wreck so it is like having 2 or 3 books all rolled in to one. There is also a chapter of survivor testimonies including one showing the escape route he took.
At 610 pages this is a large book (see comparison photos below) and yet it is only £35 which in this day and age of overpriced books is a bargain.
