Got it but not read it yet-I'll add that even though technically its not a Reggie history ;)

What about the book you was working on?

I thought I'd bump this up as there must be more out there.

Just to clarify-I'm after any Royal Artillery Regimental History Book, regardless of price, that contains a section on their time in France with the BEF as well as the rest of the war. ie 1939 to 1945 not just BEF stuff.

    Cheers

By the time of WW2, the Kent Yeomanry had become 97 (Kent Yeomanry) Field Regiment RA (and later also 143 Field Regiment). The former went to France with the BEF and Boris Mollo's book 'The Kent Yeomanry' published by Tempus in 2006 has a few pictures of the regiment in France, but very little in the way of history. It also covers their time in the Middle East and Italy.

The Hertfordshire Yeomanry Regiments, Royal Artillery Part 2
by JD Sainsbury. Hart Books, Welwyn.

Part 2 covers the AA and SL units including 79 HAA Rgt.

Although not an individual Regtl history, The Years of Defeat 1939-41 by Gen Sir Martin Farndale gives a good coverage of all RA units of the BEF.

79 HAA Herts Yeo try here. Apologies for not noticing the BEF link.

You mentioned the Survey regiments somewhere for which there is Larkhill's Wartime Locators: Royal Artillery Survey in the Second World War by Massimo Mangilli-Climpson. About 30 pages on the BEF (out of about 700!)

I am looking at the list here of HAA regiments and I don't see the 93rd listed. I am researching a man who was with the 267th Bty/93rd HAA.

The lists on this thread are only the units that served with the British Expeditionary Force in France in 1940 - 93 HAA were out in sunnier climes.

Here is a little more on the 93rd HAA Regiment, RA:

    93rd Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.A. (T.A.)
HQ, 288th, 289th Btys: Oxton, Birkenhead
    267th (Wirral) Bty: West Birkenhead
    290th Bty: Chester

The regiment was formed from a cadre of Wirral officers and men transferred from 70th AA Regiment in Liverpool. The regiment was largely recruited from the shipping and insurance offices and banks of Liverpool. It formed part of 33rd AA Brigade at the outbreak of war. 290th Battery left on 15 January 1942. The regiment served in Egypt from mid-1943. It came under command of 2nd AA Brigade in Egypt, training for Sicily and Italy on arrival there. The regiment remained in Egypt until the regiment and batteries were placed into suspended animation on 12 August 1944.

  18. HI op-ack,

I noticed you mentioned you have a book or diary related to the 60th Field Regiment RA (TA) which I believe my Grandfather may have been a member, the details are a little vague regarding his service and I'm trying to piece it together. He lived in Lincoln and my uncle informed me he was with the RA, given that he was born in 1910 he would have been slightly older than the average conscript which leads me to believe he most likely would have been a member of 237 Battery in Lincoln. I'm trying to confirm this before paying for his service record as I don't have his service number so I would very grateful if you might be able to point me in the direction of any documentation that might be able to do that.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Matt
