Best forum to decifer service records and track units?

  1. hello all! As a good Canadian, I’ll start by thanking you all for your service and for the information you have provided on this website! I served a few years with the Canadian primary armoured reserves but my grand dad born and raised in England served in British artillery, infantry and parachute during ww2.
I have all of his service records but the details are still a little bit difficult to figure out.
What is the best forum to post his info and what is the best service information to post to get a clearer picture of his story?
And yes, I have searched and read anything to do with his regiments but still have some gaps :)

    • Put the unit name(s) in the thread title.
    • Upload scans of any actual documents you might have, not transcriptions.
    • Specify precisely which acronyms and abbreviations are giving you trouble.
    • Include as much supplementary information as you have from other sources, e.g. he said 'he mentioned spending a lot of time in Cairo'; 'his c/o's name was Roberts' etc.
