"Big Bob" query

    Can anyone identify what a "Big Bob" is? It is referenced in the Admiralty War Diary image 425 of the June month of 1944, pertaining to Operation Neptune. I thought this might be a name given to the bombardon breakwaters, but did they have canvas coverings? Any insight appreciated.
