This was on the local news last night, might be useful for Grave Finder General Chris Harley. 1.5 million records on line. However they did not mention once you'd found a possible record it was a fiver to download! Just checked one of my IFTC success cases, he is listed. Bereavement Services | Birmingham City Council - Bereavement Services | Birmingham City Council
Shame about the cost, but now that Find A Grave have changed format this could be useful. I tried searching a Birmingham burial the other day on Find A Grave and I could not get it set to search Birmingham, England, only Birmingham cemeteries in the States. It's most disappointing. It was such an easy site to search in the old format.
The only time I ever saw Joe Walsh was in Birmingham, England. I remember him saying "We have a Birmingham back home, it's a much nicer place"
Hello Geoff should be useful. I am going to run a few WW2 names through it this evening. Cheers Chris
Have either of you downloaded the info? I'd be curious to see the information provided. Is it just plot number and section? Or does it give details of inscription or plot owner?
The 2 pages that I have are the original full burial register pages. The handy info is home address & place of death. No inscription details. Chris
Thanks for the info Chris. I haven't heard back from the cemetery in question. Think I'll take the plunge and download the record. It was a toss up between ordering the £6 PDF version of the death cert, but GRO's PDF pilot only does death certs up to 1957 at the moment and burial is 1967. I now have the date of birth from the '39 ID register thanks to Harkness, so I'll know hopefully from the burial record if it's the right person. Thanks again.
Sorry, got another question before I download one of these records this week. Chris stated the full page from the register is available. Does this reveal all the occupants of the grave?
Thanks once again Chris. Some records here in Scotland occasionally have all the grave occupiers listed. I'm going to opened the record tomorrow anyway to see if I can confirm a suspicion.
