The link is to a YouTube video showing the VJ Commemorations in Bodmin, Cornwall in August 1995. The video starts with some archive photos from 1945 before showing the military parade featuring the Light Infantry & units from RAF St Mawgan and then the Service of Remembrance & Commitment before the War Memorial in Priory Park. Also seen are the Bodmin Town Band and the St Breward Silver Band. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WxzmOpZ9XQ
Thank you for this. The sight of all those skeletal POWs always brings tears to the eyes. Did the 2015 event attract such attention?
I wasn't at the 2015 event but I understand it was to be a much smaller affair with just a wreath laying for VJ Day & dedication of two ornamental seats to commemorate the two world wars. How many actually attended I don't know. If I find a local press report I'll post a link.
