    Sad to say, I am!

The Tesco (I think) in Beccles makes reference to it being the site of Clowes who were also quite big in military publishing, but perhaps diversified a bit more than G&P

Gale & Polden was a great publisher.
I have a decent number of their biographies and regimental books from the 40s and 50s and they're some of my favourites.

The Story of Gale & Polden, priced £16, is available to buy direct from David Strong. To place an order, call Mr Strong on 01252 320073 or email davidandgillstrong@tiscalia.co.uk.

David Strong, it seems, is [retired] Colonel David Strong TD.

For most of the 20th Century, they were clearly the publisher of choice for any regimental association looking to publish a history. They must have had first-rate connections.

I have a fair few titles published by G&P too. Always well presented.
