This from Find my past regarding Sturton. Seems he was Royal Artillery.

He was with 88th Fld Regt - some info about him here:

    88th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery

If anyone recognises the name of the location given as his place of capture (post written Dec 19, 2017) that would be very helpful - I thought it might be an alternative to Escaut canal?

I checked in a publication by the head of biberach muse)um and found a match. most likely it is a member of the NSDAP and the local representative of the Ministry ofpropoganda by the name of Wicker. I will double check on Monday with the author or the Archives.

I still do not know, who the German officer is, but, Lt. Derek Fred Cavaye was initially buried in Biberach, but in 1948 exhumed and his remaions taken to the War Cemetary Duernbach in Bavaria. Should any family member do not know about these facts, I am willing to send a link of the Duernbach facts and also take a photo of the area of the initial burial in Biberach.
