This is a photo of a British soldier who was in Palazzuolo in 44.
He was living at the house of a local lady and helped to get them food.
All we know is that his name was Bill.

He appears to be holding something on his lap, possibly a cap GS with a reflective badge.

A bit of a long shot having tried to identify what appears to be a cap badge
    not totally sure about this.

Member Bertozzi is sick at the moment so I am posting this on his behalf.

To put the photo into context. HQ 1st Infantry Division was in Palazzuolo sul Senio in October 1944. It took a month to clear nearby Monte Cece.
The Division left Senio Valley to relieve American 88th Division in early November on Monte Grande overlooking Bologna.
Stores were brought up from Borgo san Lorenzo and Artillery Ammunition from Arezzo east of Florence until the Division moved out leaving Italy in January 1945.

The photo was left to the family as a souvenir.
If someone recognizes him it would be very nice.
