I am trying to find additional information about the locations of 5 RHA in 1940 when they manned the GHQ and possible parts of the Eastern Command lines in 1940. Their War Diaries state that from June 1940 they manned 21 priority points between Saffron Walden and Witham whilst pillboxes were being built and occupying them on completion. I believe Royal Engineer .Field Coys. 228,229 and 230 part of 11 Corp.RE.along with civilian contractors were engaged in building the pillboxes. I there any mention of 5 RHA in the Engineer war Diaries of this time? Any help will be much appreciated.
