    Hello all,
Been a long time since i posted on here last, but was hoping some of you could have a look at this 3d model of a C-47 skytrain i am creating. It's in early stages and need some critic and feedback on it so be honest.

I have been watching band of brothers again recently as i had a new surround sound system and blu-ray player which is what made me start this little project and put aside a christmas animation i had been working on, so band of brothers is going to be my main source of inspiration on this one.

Once i have finished modelling it, it will be detailed textured with the standard look of the c-47. Then i will be building up a film effect type shot as seen in band of brothers with paratroopers etc. but this is going to take some time.

    cheers

Ok heres some rendered shots with a bit of the the texturing done. Dont worry about the grey or checker as they will go when i have finished texturing them parts.

If you have any ideas on the textures which i could do and or some idea of how a final outcome please fell free to chip.

again please critic the shots, modelling and texturing.

    thanks

    all the best

Damn. That's amazing. I've been trying to get/make a 3D Model and that's the most realistic one I've seen. I'm working on a little youtube/amazon like film about the airborne.

So far, I see nothing wrong with it.
What program did you use though? I just have Blender as of now. Still in the early stages.

    Cheers guys,

I used 3ds max and vray to render.
I just graduated from uni doing a course which does this sort of thing. It can take time but keep at it and you will just keep getting better. Some of my old stuff was terrible.

I am hoping once it is finished to put it in some film fx type shot as well as some still artwork.

    thanks again.

Its been about 3day to model the plane and two days to texture it so far.

I figured it shouldnt look brand new, wanted to give the impression that its been in a few missions.

    thanks again

    Scott,

It's looking great and certainly looks like it has been on a mission or two.

Always liked the Dakota. I have a picture somewhere of one on pontoons in Oslo harbour that a chum gave me years ago. He was a pilot and I will post them for you.

I like the image you have done very much. Beautiful birds!. Keep it going.

    cheers,
