Can anybody identify this regiment

    I'm not an expert, but it may be the Dorset Regiment cap badge.

    It's been suggested he might have been in the Northamptonshire Regiment. Thomas Simpson Knight.

    is the photo in a frame? or museum exhibit?
    if you can take it out and look on the back to see if there is any info plus try to take a better photo without the glare bounce

    Northamptonshire Regiment - Wikipedia

    Horseshoe represented Rutland.

    I couldn't find any mention of him amongst the officers listed in either of the Northamptonshire regimental histories. I wonder what his subsequent career was ?
