My Dad Harold Speak served in the 6th Airborne regiment 1942-1946 serving in France, Holland, Germany, Baltic and later Palestine. The photograph is of the Regimental Football team in Palestine, my dad is centre back row. Can anyone put any names to the other players. On the back of the photo is written 1st Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles, 6th Airborne Division, 6th Air Landing Brigade and the date 1946. Bill Eckersley is also on the photograph. Dad at 95 is still going strong.

    zebit,

Going by Owen's photo the man third from right in uniform on the Palestine team looks like RQMS Smith. The chap back row extreme left with hair parted towards centre in your photo bears a resemblance to Cpl Wolfe on the 1 RUR team (5th from left back row).

    Regards ..
