Always look forward to your posts James. Often pick up men from the 13th King's Liverpool on the memorials in the Liverpool and Merseyside region.

Had occasion to visit Terrington Church, North Yorkshire today:
    upload_2022-10-20_20-46-24.jpeg
It was raining and names were not particularly clear, but did not want to cause grief to any of the inscriptions. Those listed are:

    Sgt GT Barker, probably:
    https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/find-war-dead/casualty-details/2319615/george-thomas-barker/
    FO AJ Calvert, probably:

    Capt FN Edwards:

    LBdr L Johnson:

    Wg Cdr FAG Lascelles:
    https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/f...ails/2073898/francis-alfred-george-lascelles/
who links with this ww2 talk post:
    British aristocracy losses in WW2

Of coincidence, both Francis Lascelles and George Barker flew Fairey Battles (for different squadrons) on the sorties against the Sedan Bridges on 14 May 1940, Barker being killed whilst piloting Fairey Battle P5232, some broader detail within:
150 Squadron Fairey Battle I K9483 Plt.Off. Posselt, RAF Ecury-sur-Cole, Uffz. Ghesla, 2./JG53, le Petit Pont France
    and (with photos):
Sep 1939 to June 1940 150 Squadron AASF Fairey Battleā€™s involved

with Francis Lascelles and his crew surviving after his crash landing of Battle K9342 on return, some broader detail at:
    14th May 1940 105 Squadron Fairey Battle I L5230 Fl/Lt. Sammels
(although the further detail link therein doesn't seem to chime.)

Hull's Northern Cemetery contains a number of memorials, two photographed today shown here; this one primarily commemorating cremated casualties:
    upload_2022-10-28_0-44-36.jpeg
which stands behind a grouping of 55 war graves...
.... some German and Italian on the left:
    upload_2022-10-28_0-13-1.jpeg
and British and Commonwealth to the right, albeit some with wider interpretation:
    upload_2022-10-28_0-16-7.jpeg
and a nearby storyboard giving more general information:
    upload_2022-10-28_0-18-23.jpeg

    leading us onto:
    upload_2022-10-28_0-21-34.jpeg
..... commemorating in part the civilian casualties of the St Patrick's Day 1945 bombing attack linked to Gunner400s stirling endeavours at:
    Crashed Bomber No Info??
    also commemorated at:
    Savoy Cinema Bombing Victims
although there was one more civilian fatality, as noted at:
Tragic story of Hull woman who was last civilian to be killed in WW2

Northern Cemetery itself was bombed in the War, my business there today being connected with a family grave obliterated during a raid in 1941:

Noting some of the German fatalities in 1946 above reminded me of other post-conflict tragic deaths about 30 miles to the North of Hull, connected with POW Camp 250 and commemorated at the former Burton Agnes railway station:
    upload_2022-10-28_0-55-15.jpeg

At 06:42 on 17 September 1947, an army lorry conveying German POWs crashed through the level crossing gates and collided with the 05:55 Hull to Bridlington passenger train. Two British NCOs and seven POWs were killed, fuller detail at:
    https://www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/documents/MoT_BurtonAgnes1947.pdf
and in a book by author Richard M Jones.

Perhaps one of not many memorial plaques (apart from monuments in cemeteries) listing German - together with British - names?

A piece about the camp is at:
    PoW Camp 250 Thorpe Hall
and connect the Malcom56 thread at:
Camp 250 Eden / Thorpe Hall
possibly accumulatively suggesting the winding down of the Thorpe Hall 'facility' in late 1947?

The memorial for the village of Scawby, North Lincolnshire - located on Chapel Lane, Church Road:

Some of the names are also included in the Brigg War Memorial. In nearby St Hybald's Church, there is also a Book of Remembrance that includes brief histories of individuals, where known.
