    Crewe War Memorial.

Crewe War Memorial stands in the Town's Municipal Square. It consists of a bronze sculpture of Britannia standing on a pedestal, itself on a square base. The sculptor was Walter Gilbert and the sculpture was cast in the foundry of H. H. Martin and Company. It was unveiled in 1924. The names of those killed in both world wars and in later conflicts are inscribed on bronze plaques around the base, and there are further inscriptions on the paving around the memorial.

The Halifax Memorial honours the more than 3,250 Canadian and Newfoundlander sailors and soldiers who died at sea during the First and Second World Wars, and who have no known graves. Located in Nova Scotia by the entrance to Halifax Harbour, this impressive Commonwealth War Graves Commission monument features a great granite Cross of Sacrifice some twelve metres in height. The massive stone base bears bronze panels inscribed with the names of those who lost their lives in duty.

I've passed many local memorials on my travels, but its difficult to park my (rather large vehicle) & take a picture or two! When i do get the chance, I will take a photo of the memorial that stands in the City of Stafford UK. Its quite tall.

Whitstable War Memorial was unveiled on 7 April 1920 by Lord Harris. It commemorates 178 local servicemen who died during the First World War.

The memorial was designed by F G Browning, a local man, who also oversaw the erection of the memorial by Messrs Millen and Chrisfield of Faversham.

Following the Second World War, a dedication was added to commemorate the Fallen of that conflict. The top of the memorial was raised to accommodate the new plaques for the names of those who fell in active service since 1939, and it was re-dedicated in 1995.
