I can across this reference to a Centaur Kangaroo from Canadian Heritage T17894 page 1380. I have never seen a photo of one of these vehicles. Were these ever used? Canadian Military Headquarters, London : T-17894 - Héritage Cheers Kevin
According to Fletcher, who is usually reliable, plans were certainly made to produce the Centaur Kangaroo but if any were actually produced they did not enter service. There was also a plan to remove the engines from Centaurs and thus produce a towed troop carrier with greater capacity. Neither the armoured units or the infantry liked the idea. Mike
There was a dedicated Centaur troop carrier/gun tractor called the Taurus, of which I think nine were built, but I don't know if the Centaur Kangaroo was a different project. Crusader Gun Tractors when allocated for troop carrying were also referred to as Kangaroos.

The Canadians had experience of operating Centaurs taking over the remnants of the RMASG vehicles in early August 1944 - a battery with twelve Centaurs and three Sherman OP tanks.
