I fear Mr Pile has absolutely nailed what is currently going on.

I can hope against hope that 'somebody' is paying attention to that potential doom spiral, but...

A mate is over in Redmond with Microsoft this week. Doing ubernerd stuff. (Because he's an ubernerd, amongst his beer and Morris gang obsessions.)
Much chat from everyone about 'Agents', apparently.
    'Virtual' 'Employees'.
    Think on that...
Like, really consider what they mean.
    And where that goes.
    Hmmm.

    Bring on the bubble's bursting.

"Robbins said some jobs will be eliminated, while others will be changed, but workers can thrive if they embrace and learn to use the technology.
You shouldn't worry as much about AI taking your job as you should worry about someone who's very good using AI taking your job," he said.
Another risk of AI is online safety, Robbins warned.
"It's going to make our cyber attacks better. It's going to make the scams that people see in their inboxes seem more real," he says.

AI boom will produce victors and carnage, tech boss warns

"Victors". "Eliminate". "Carnage". Could be straight from the bigsmiles merchant's '30s songbook.

Well isn't that something to look forward to. Not.

    Kind regards, Awful Innovation, always,

    Jim.

    Slop it be Adam.

    Awful Innovation = Slop.

AI 'slop' is transforming social media - and there's a backlash

Kind regards, but not to the AI using perpetrators of this garbage, always,

    Jim.

    Have a shufti at Moltbook.com.
    Soshul Meeja for AI 'Agents'.
    It's getting creepy quite quickly...

Well. Not as creepy as Linkedin, obviously.

If this isn't a hoax, it's starting to get really creepy. Here's a “best of” compilation:

I think a lot of it is indeed humans being silly.

I also think a lot of it... Isn't.

Was in communication with someone by FB who tried to use ChatGPT, which produced the result that Guards Armoured Division's anti-tank regiment was equipped with Archers. Which I immediately knew to be false.

These are, apparently, great bullshit generators. If you don't know better/have the ability to cross-check their results, they can output something that seems plausible... regardless of actual veracity.

    Spot on Chris.

The perpetrators of such Awful Innovation rely on a trait that has been their go to from time immemorial to modern day snake-oil salesmen.

    Human gullibility.

Kind regards, humans, please think, always,

    Jim.

My current Glorious Leader asked his van's AI Assistant (FFS) for flight durations to Japan today.
It began its response with 'According to ChatGPT' & proceeded to give results from asking another AI.

    And the times quoted?
    Absolute bollocks.
Nothing in the real world even close.

'Someone' has to be hunting this circular toss where one load of old tut feeds the march towards an established system of utter engrained tut.
I say that, but they may not be.
If they are, I do not envy their job...

Sad to say I looked for this and found it as Co-pilot AI Gospel

    I asked microsoft bing

"are service records meant to be read today"

    The top AI reply was

"Not meant to be read today

Service records are not meant to be read today as they are primarily for administrative use after discharge. However, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is transferring around 10 million service records to The National Archives for permanent preservation, which includes records of individuals who served in the First and Second World Wars. These records are predominantly in paper format and are of national significance, ensuring their long-term preservation.
    The National Archives

The first sentence does not appear in the linked TNA page. It does partially appear on this forum as a cut and paste formulaic reply and has been repeated enough to form an internet weight of usage to AI agents.

    Karl Rove -
“We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.”

More AI slop......although this is a common mistake.

I've been doing a lot of research lately, regarding the 1956 Suez crisis, especially around the 3 Para Airborne drop.

This recently popped up on one of my searches.

The Canal Zone GSM and the 1956 Suez crisis GSM (Near East clasp) are two completely different medals yet are still being confused. This slop only helps to cement that confusion.

    AI, "Awful Innovation".

Now a tool for racist shitehouses to create and distribute their propaganda.

Another step back towards the world of the big smiles arm raisers.

    Modern day Goebbels.

In my eyes, in the world I'd hope for, not funny.

Kind regards, the propaganda is invariably in at the start, if not how it starts, always,

    Jim.
