Steve, I wonder could(Google Earth) this help me pinpoint the area on Mandalay Hill ref that Buddha my Dad sat in front of

I have not got the latest google Earth software etc. I have used it to close in on major places and achieved decent results for mapping places and sectors. But, whether you can zoom in on street level as we now can here in the UK, I am not sure?

Manalay looks not too bad



Still looking for Broadway, it's one of the clearings well North East of Mawlu. There used to be a site with a link to the exact clearing ( it was just a brown blob ) but can't find it now.

I am not to up on it myself, but your mention of how far you can zoom in begs the question.......... MIKKY? can you zoom in more or is that the closest I had Mandalay Hill, in mind thanks for your efforts thus far

 

I think Broadway is one of these clearings, not 100% sure though.

I notice there are updates of other areas. Iwo Jima ( not Suribachi for some reason )
Guadalacanal Henderson field/Edson's ridge area.
Street view available Okinawa including Naha.
Bougainville is no longer just a green smudge.

It clearly show how dominant the hill is, compered with surrounding flat terrain.
