Never heard of a Field Battery Command Post Log.
Royal Artillery Field Batteries were administered by a CPO (Command Post Officer) Normally a Lieutenant.
CPO was there to co ordinated the Battery gunfire with signals from the FOO (Forward Observation Officer)
Observation Post Officer or AOP (Air Observation Post).

Regiment War Diaries can be found in TNA (The National Archives) Files
Battery War Diaries possibly in Local County Archives or Army Reserve Centres.

Few War Diaries exist below Regimental level.
