Thanks Clint. Some pretty interesting stories in that one eh? Was there anything that surprised you, or particularly interested you?

I found the part when one of the blokes started talking about the Thompson Sub Machine Guns very interesting. How they only had the 20 round magazines instead of the 50 round drums and the effectiveness of their range etc and it 'wasn't like Band of Brothers". I will be looking forward to the episode on the Armoured Regiments.

A new episode in the "Courage And Valour: New Zealanders in the Italian Campaign of WWII" series has been published, Episode 11 - The Engineers.

In this feature length episode we hear from New Zealand Army Engineers who served in Italy, building bridges, laying and clearing mines, constructing and repairing buildings and roads, etc, and keeping the vehicles maintained and moving. We also hear about the various fiddles and scams they had going on when they were not busy or under fire.

The veterans who appear in this are former Engineers Ted Gatfield, Tom McClennan, Eric Bullen, Ted Lees and Stan Wall, with a cameo appearance from infantry favourite Pat Green. You can listen and download the episode here:
