The BBC NI version of Dig WW2 starts next Monday. It's 3 x 1 hours and has the largest amount of content for the different versions of the series as it was commissioned by BBC NI.

It's available via Sky and I think Virgin - and possibly via other services?

Web page for it here: BBC Two - Dig WW2 with Dan Snow

I think so - you'd have to check on your channels.

Channel 973 on Sky or 957 on Freesat for those outside Northern Ireland.

    Just received this:

    Dear Gerry
I hope this finds you well.
I have finally heard while I was away filming in Belgium last week that BBC Northern Ireland has now released transmission dates for DIG WW2 with Dan Snow. The series will start to be shown on BBC1 in Northern Ireland next Monday. I believe that viewers in Ireland will also be able to see it. For those not in Ireland, hopefully the next day they should be able to see the programme on the BBC iPlayer . In any case I will be sending out DVD’s of the programme after the series has been transmitted. The section we filmed with you appears in the second half of episode one when we look at Nigel's Churchill tank and then go to Italy.
The dates for the series are as follows.
Episode One Monday May 14th at 21.00 on BBC ONE Northern Ireland
Episode Two Monday May 21 at 21.00 on BBC ONE Northern Ireland
Episode Three Monday May 28 at 21.00 on BBC ONE Northern Ireland
Would you be able to send me an address for you Gerry so I can send you a DVD. I would be very happy to send a copy to your son too if you wish.
It just leaves me to say thanks very much for all your help - your contribution was terrific. Please feel free to pass on the dates to everyone.
    All the best
    John

You beat me to posting the date - I have been waiting for four weeks for it to be "dis-embargo-ed"!
I am assuming we can get it on Freesat here on the 'mainland' and I have been assured it will be available on i-player, too. So even if you can't watch it 'live' you can catch it that way, usually for a week after transmission.

    Folks,

Take a look at BBC One - Dig WW2 with Dan Snow, Episode 1

This is to be broadcast as a Series in Northern Ireland and a reduced programme throughout the rest of the United kingdom at a later date.

Its time to flick through your SKY Box to the Northern Ireland channels and set to record series!!:D

The first programme is on tomorrow night. Monday 14th May BBC1 at 21:00hrs. Looks like it could be very interesting, especially for the NI forum members.

    From a TV listing:
"The historian explores Northern Ireland's role in World War II, revealing the story of a pilot who became the most successful U-boat hunter of all time,"
