In the area were I live many planes crashed during WW2. Quit a number of these air planes are still not found and/or identified.

Sometime ago I found this piece of an air plane.
Does somebody recognize these serials? Which plane or at least which type of air plane?
    Hope to hear
    Fred

    Hi Fred,

I don't know anything about aircraft part numbers but I do recall an aircraft serial of 2820 which was a Hurricane lost in May 1940 ? Its just a coincidence I`m sure but thought I would mention it ?

    Type: Hurricane Mk 1
    Serial number: P2820,
    Lost: 17/05/1940
    F/O Cyril D. 'Pussy' Palmer, RAF 33330 - safe
Baled out in combat with Me 110's of V(Z)/LG1 near Rheims, 09.00 hrs.
F/O Palmer, a native of the USA, was to die as Squadron Leader on 27/10/1942

I don't think it is the serial from the plane itself but from a part. I found this in an area where the Zuiderzee (used to be sea before it was reclaimed) was.
I hope to find out what kind of type of air plane this is
