East Lancs is the designation of the regiment on my farthers cap badge, served in India, Egypt, Madagascar and Burma, dont have much more information than that about him at the moment, his name was Fred Thornton and he was born in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, am trying to dig out any information about him during his time in Burma.

If he was in the East Lancs in Burma than he was in 2nd Battalion, which served in 29th Infantry brigade before it was transferred to 7th Indian Division.
