Hi all, researching my family tree. Looking for info about my great-grandfather Edward John Capper. He was a private in the East Surrey Regiment during WW1 but we have a WW2 Star medal along with the Victory/War WW1 medals so I assume he continued serving. Service number on the medals is 38718.

The service number you have given is a WW1 version - these changed in 1920's so if he was involved in WW2 then he would have a different service number Service records as Tony56 says is the way to go for his WW2 details TD
