I am just reading a Historic novel. The story plays in central England, France and Palestine.
786 years ago, there was a lot of violence and cruelty. And crusaders in Jaffa and Gaza.
There is violence and cruelty in these days.
If we could travel in time, would you press the button 1240?

    Stefan.

Another interesting fact, it was then and still is a Male world.
However males were extremely polite - mostly.

A new English word for me. But, ok, I agree now.
    Thanks for both.

For some non too serious enlightenment Stefan seek out the movie "Jabberwocky" :)

It will impart more of a picture of living conditions (imagined, surreal, or otherwise) than any textbook on the subject. And best of all there are moments that will make you smile, if not laugh out loud.

Kind regards, you'll never view a window the same again, always,

    Jim.

    Hi Jim,
    thanks for the information.
just seen the trailer of the film.
    It made me smile.

This Morning I talked to a young local catholic church man. not a priest.
However he confirmed that the church in these days, but also later in South America did some nasty things.

I recommend Michael Crichton's Timeline. I'm not usually a science fiction fan but I really enjoyed this one.

I just learned they made a movie of it. Looking forward to watching it!

    Great movie.

    I love time travel.
Another good one is: The Jesus Video.
Not recommended for strong believers in Jesus Christ.
Both published as a book and produced as a film.
Best, to read the book first.
    Stefan.

On sholde lyven in interestinge tymes .......
As well as the grief in Stefan's tale, Batu Khan and his very sizeable horde were marauding through significant swathes of the lands of the Rus and beyond, culminating with a successful siege against Kiev at the year's end. The Khan was 5'7" tall, the same as the Rus Putin. He allegedly recruited an Englishman with a military background as his translator. It would be interesting to get a brief from the latter, if he was real, together with an insight into the Templars, if that really was his background, but I would keep my thumb on the magic bungee return button.

You're a one, intcher, me ole china !

As an aside, B.E.F. War Diaries and instructions during the Phoney War continued to refer to the left hand side of a vehicle as the "nearside" even when in France where of course it had become the "offside". Some interpreted as the authors intended, others not. There was some serious confusion over the implementation of the single head and tail lamp regulations.
