    No problem Malki.

You could be quite right in your initial reply and omission of numeral 1 may be due simply to slip of the pen by a busy clerk.

Detail on statement if services form is usually taken from B103 form so if there is no mention of a posting to NWE in his B103 you are probably correct in your interpretation.

Hi All, new to this, but would like to add, OC 6th Bn Black Watch with his HQ and 9 OR's too part in the Battle of the Ypres Comines Canal, 27th May 1940, he had under command, 7,57 and 225 Companies Royal Engineers, of which 7 Company took the advanced position of the three, they were supported by remnants of 1st Ox & Buck, 3 Sqn's of 13th/18th Hussars, A, B and C, C Sqn was dismounted and accompanied the Engineers. The attack went in at 19:00 hrs. This was supported by 3rd Grenadiers, North Staffs and Sherwood Foresters, 2 hrs later to their left flank. The engineers were withdrawn at 01:00 hrs 28th having been successful in their counter attack, then were withdrawn to La Planne to assist in the construction of lorried piers, There is a mention that he returned with the Engineers, so he may have taken part in this action, in that case he was with the 6th Bn. Hope that throw some light on the matter
