I can't recall the name of the exact character, but it was said by one of the allied pilots in Hell's Angels (1930).

I don't know what movie the line is from, but it was a lyric in Once in a Lifetime (1981) by Talking Heads.

    You may ask yourself
    What is that beautiful house?
    You may ask yourself
Where does that highway go to?
    And you may ask yourself
Am I right? Am I wrong?
    And you may say yourself
"My God! What have I done?"

Or they're both from the final scenes of The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957).

Correct. Both from the ending of Bridge on the River Kwai.

Uttered by Mako playing Admiral Yamamoto in Pearl Harbor (2001) directed by Michael Bay and much inferior to Tora Tora Tora (1970).

Correct on both counts. And that is a great song on a great album by a great band.

There always seems to be the same instruction uttered by a submarine commander in the silence of stalking prey at sea.

"Periscope Up", followed by "Periscope Down" then:

"Fire One" followed by "Fire Two".

Shot amuses when considering that contemporary photos of Bromhead and Chard show that they had beards you could loose a ferret in.

Easy one as it is the weekend:

"What were you and that Major talking about?"

    "I told him I was Himmler's brother!"
