Not an addon My Firefox 20.0 spell check seems to be dead. I'm on Win 7 64 bit with spell check clicked in advanced options and with the correct about:config settings. Anyone else experiencing this? Regards ...
It may have lost the dictionary and/or the language pack during the upgrade to Fx 20. Happens occasionally. Try Firefox Safe Mode first, but if it doesn't show up when you're in that, then restart Firefox again normally and install the appropriate dictionary and/or language pack from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/language-tools/ If it does show up in Firefox Safe Mode, then that probably means one of your add-ons isn't playing nicely and you need to do some more diagnostics.
Vitesse thanks, It didn't show up in safe mode, though I can see it in the dictionary folder (U.S. English). To complicate matters I added Canadian English, but no joy there even after choosing that in Options. Saw this simple fix and it seems to be working again - not sure how lasting that will be? Spell Check doesn't work with FireFox? Cheers ...
Adam, I had to resort to Classic Theme Restorer to get some of the options back that were removed during the latest update to Firefox 29, including Tabs On Bottom and the bottom tool bar where I stick all my icons. There seems to be this overwhelming need to make Firefox look like Chrome ...aargh!
Glad I'm not alone. I saw that classic restorer mentioned, but you know how it is - tab thing worked so I stopped, lazily happy. Should have a proper shufti later. Daft, innit. Seems they've caught the change for change's sake bug - I tried it for a week this time as the config tab toggle no longer worked, and it's... alright... but why the hell shouldn't we be able to set it how we like it. Deeply odd. Mind you, FF seems to be starting slower and slower, in Safe mode or not, so I've been looking sideways at Chrome, even though I don't really want to.
Yo, Here's the arrangement I've settled on recently. I use the mouse with the right hand and find it's easier to get at my icons on the bottom right.
I've linked to this on the Photobucket thread as well. Very handy at the moment. Photobucket Hotlink Fix
