On the coach home from Italy last night there was a Veteran on board and I had a quick chat with him. :)

This is the information I quickly wrote down whilst he was talking (apologies if in my haste jotting down the info I have got part of it wrong), but I couldn't miss an opportunity to talk to him :)

His name was Ken Beard and he said he was a rear gunner in Halifax bombers, part of 10 Squadron at RAF Melbourne, aged 93.

He said he was at Nuremburg where they lost 94 planes, with 7 crew in each Halifax.
    Flew twice on D Day
    Bombed Berlin 7 times
    Did over 30 raids.

I would be interested if any member can add further info or correct the above if I have got part of it wrong .
