Hi, 3xgt-grandfather was a shoemaker, from Kirriemuir, with the Forfarshire Militia, which is how gg-grandfather came to be born in England. Forfarshire archives indicate that the militia was at Berwick-upon-Tweed in1809 and Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1810, which agrees with the 1841 Census record (he died before 1851). Does anyone know anywhere else that militia records might be found, please? Thanks, Gordon
