This starts on Tues on BBC2. I really enjoyed the first lot of programmes with this family. Further Back in Time for Dinner - BBC Two BBC - Further Back In Time For Dinner - The 1900s - Media Centre
The 1930s is well worth checking out. There is something about these Historical Social experiments that click for me. Further Back in Time for Dinner, Series 1: 4. 1930s
I love the series. The family are brilliant, even tasting the scrambled brains and eggs. Mum Rochelle, who admits she Is no cook, has excelled in tackling unfamiliar ingredients and cooking methods. I was, however, cringing when she used the tin opener and the pressure cooker, anticipating a visit to A&E. I think that the daughters would have been expected to help their mother out a lot more than is portrayed. Today's kids would be horrified if Mum came home with a sheep's head or pig's trotters wrapped in newspaper and they have no idea what they are eating nowadays.
