Does anyone have the No 6 Commando War Diary for Jan 45? I am doing some follow-up enquiries for a work mate regarding the death of his uncle on 28th Jan 45, Pte G J Prior. Cheers Paul
Is this G J Prior - died aged 18? I'll ask the lads over on the Commando Veterans Forum to amend the No.6 Roll of Honour if so.
Paul, Prt. George Prior was Killed In Action (KIA) during a patrol of the area around St. Joostburg ( Limburg Province , Netherlands ) on 28th January 1945 http://www.6commando.com/Pages/Other%20Ranks/OR%20Pages/P/Prior%20GJ/OR%20Prior%20GJ.html Guy
Hi Danny thank you very much for the pages of the 28th. I've joined them and will show Dave in the morning. I am also interested in the 29th & 30th of Jan if you have them as I am also seeking information on the death of Capt. Marshall John Adam “Spot” Leaphard, . Cheers Paul
Andy thanks for posting. Do you have the 30th as that is when Capt. Marshall John Adam “Spot” Leaphard died. Cheers Paul
My friend Dave wishes to thank both Andy & Danny for providing War Diary pages relating to the death of his Uncle. His Mother also thanks you both very much. They say its a shame that his Father has passed without knowing the details of how his Brother died & where he was buried. Cheers Paul

Thats a great pic of his grave-It looks like it's in some ones back garden with all that washing! I wonder what happened to his beret.
I knew I'd seen this background before. More photos of those who fell at this time are in the Commando Veterans gallery. RIP
