Recently came across a website that stated that the Polish, in the September 1939 Campaign, inflicted heavier losses on the Germans then was inflicted in the Battle for France.

Can anyone say if this is true and what the German losses, in each campaign were? Personnel, tanks, planes etc.

Approximate losses in Polish Campaign according to a polish historian P. P. Wieczorkiewicz:

    Poland vs. Germany

    Poles:
    70 000 killed (over 67 000 people were identified)
    133 000 wounded
about 420 000 POWs (10 000 were murdered or died in prison camps)
4 generals were killed in combat
losses of Polish civilians amounted to 150.000

    Germans:
over 16 000 killed and about 500 missed
    about 30 000 wounded one
one German general was killed in combat

Poland vs. Soviet Union (Polish High Command tried to prevent from fighting with Soviets and most of forces withdrew or surrendered)

    Poles:
    6 000 - 7 000 killed and murdered
over 500 000 "POWs" (in fact, only 250 000 were soldiers - many of them didn't survived till 1941)
    One general was murdered.

    Soviets:
    about 2 500 - 3 000 killed

About 80 000 Polish soldiers escaped to neutral countries like Romania and Hungary.

674 German tanks, 319 armored vehicles and 521 planes were destroyed or heavily damaged. Krigsmarine lost one vessel.
Red Army lost about 150 tanks and armored vehicles and several planes.
