Here's my attempt at making a Ghostbusters Proton Pack from some cardboard boxes and PVA glue : I should've got a job on Blue Peter. I'm guessing you aint afraid of no ghost (but what about sticky backed plastic?!?) :p
Cheers Tom. I know what meds I'm taking, now do you? Lol, I just love building stuff out of rubbish. It's my mates fancy dress b'day party at the weekend. Still need to make my 'ecto goggles' yet.
I'm guessing you aint afraid of no ghost (but what about sticky backed plastic?!?) :p Nah, PVA all the way mate.
We do have some trains, it's not just scenery. Oh, I thought it was a work in progress but you've got ballast & everything!!
Oh, I thought it was a work in progress but you've got ballast & everything!! Got a bit more done the other day too using the scatter & flock I bought at Salute.
Looks pretty decent! Are you going to leave the ballast that pristine white? Over here they spread buckets of rust over it I worked in real life in railway construction in the past, track ballast is a science, to my surprise!
Looks pretty decent! Are you going to leave the ballast that pristine white? Over here they spread buckets of rust over it I knew someone would comment about that. Aye I could but as I said to my lad, this is to start him off. If he wants to go anymore advanced with it he can, when he's older. I've done my bit.
I worked in real life in railway construction in the past, track ballast is a science, to my surprise! ANY kind of ballasting is! Sometimes the results of doing it badly get all....military... I'd hate to have been there, that's hair-pulling cathegory! It reminds me of a thread elsewhere with a what-if on the Germans taking Iceland over à la Denmark. Just build a couple of airbases and you can be supplied by any Ju52s you want! The more brickbats you threw at the guy, the deeper he dug his heels
Why do you think I researched and posted up THAT particular little factlet of WWII??? It's called "copperfastening", or..."firing the silver bullet" Funny how doing away with the undead always involves precious metal of some kind!
LOL I didn't mean you, I meant the Iceland-fixated idiot on AHF. He came back and twisted another FOUR threads back round to his Iceland-In-April-1940 madness, each one in turn ended up being locked after each time I threw a spanner in EVERY single one of his works His LATEST idea as that as the Luftwaffe flew round trip to Narvik from Trondheim....they could fly one-way from Trondheim to Iceland - land on Icelandic pastures, refuel from the PETROL running local tractors and fly back again! He couldn't quite get his idea around the MINOR historical problem that by the time the Luftwaffe was ABLE to fly supply flights OUT of Trondheim....rather than just IN to support the Germans in the area against the approaching British from Namsos and Andalsnes....and started those flights on May 11th... ....the Luftwaffe had left only ONE STAFFEL of Ju-52s in Norway - the REST had started dropping out of the sky onto DUTCH airfields....and roads and beaches!....on May 10th! My god but did he get bolshy about it... Somewhere around NINE aircraft, flying one trip a day, and carrying between 5 and 7 fully-equiped FJ per plane (even the narvik round trips could only carry 7-10 instead of the normal stick of 12!) meant that his "invasion" consisted of from 45 to 63 men A DAY! Oh, and apparently a Ju-52 would run on DIESEL....
Oooooh, I and others had immense trouble at WW2F trying to squelch the guy, it was an immensely long thread. I think he even got banned when he erupted! had no idea he had carried on to AHF, must have been a sight! His theories on Seelöwe were interesting too, as well as his Jerries taking the Baku oilfields through Turkey, IIRC. Nah, he wouldn't believe there weren't roads nor railways over the Caucasus, or what there were only allowed two goats abreast How about Ju52s reengined from diesel Ju86s
A bit late but here's another of my models. This time a Bofors SP on Morris Commercial. This is a resin kit but it has had a lot of detail improved or added and the platform corrected. The company used the gun from their towed kit and the platform was too large for the SP version. View attachment 27441 Missed this. Brilliant work Derek, and exceptionally well photographed too. ~A
Bought these today at a model railway show in Witney. Vehicles that remind me of my TA days in late 1980s. My son said, "You're not puting them on my layout."
started off with the 1 tonne Landy, when i first joined the SF Pln in early 1986 we had 2 of these. First ride in an army vehicle was down to Devizes for my medical. So thought I'd start with this one. interior painted , now ready for base coat on outside tomorrow.
