I was wondering if there is a tread, or if anyone has a copy of the GHQ War Diary for May 1940 - primarily looking for 12th Lancer references either to GHQ or the three cavalry divisions - Regards Phil
I have the 12L WD for this period, but not a GHQ one. Would be interested in the GHQ one, especially Oct and Dec 1939 if anyone does crop up (Sorry to hijack).
Would that be classified as "General Operations" ? WO167/4 covers G Ops for May and June 1940...I've not looked at those..How "Hands on" was GHQ in terms of the units it controlled in 1940 ? 12th Lancers moved about a lot, from losing their first Morris car forward of the Dijl to abandoning the rest at Bray-Dunes. G OPs Sept - Dec 1939 is WO167/2
I also have the 12L War Dairy - it is the GHQ one for the period of May 1940 which is the one I am looking for?
