Hi, Thanks all, am actually awaiting delivery of Glider Pilots at Arnhem and was planning to see how that went before considering any more. I thought the list might come in useful later. I was thinking I might need specsavers should I attempt to read them all! Regards to all, JJS.
Steve, Just found these files looking for something else and thought it maybe of interest if you don't already have it: WO 205/1123 Operation Market: operational report by commander, glider pilots WO 205/1132 Notes on Glider-borne Operations by Colonel G J S Chatterton DSO, Commander, Glider Pilots

But I don't know if these are the ones that are referenced. I will have to see if I can check that out. Thanks again, JJS

Hi Steve, At Kew tomorrow will get copys of the both above and for you JJS as well... Cheers Tom Excellent - Any chance you can post them on the forum for us all to see?
Hi Drew, Of course I can do you want anything else???? Cheers Tom Not specifically for me Tom, I don't have that much interest in the airborne, I was speaking generally for the forum. I'm sure there'll be some pieces in there of interest that would be appreciated by others. They may even attract new members to join the forum and share even more information.
Hi Drew, Of course found even more files at Kew yesterday... The interesting thing is when you go to the red founds your not find the files numbers in them...JJS can you PM me with your email... Cheers Tom
Sgt. James J. Sharrock - C Squadron - The Glider Pilot Regiment Keith Miller, active GPR Veteran and member of the GPRA, has kindly sourced and forwarded to me the following extract which appeared in the April 2003 edition of The Eagle magazine. JJS, courtesy of the efforts made by Keith Miller, has had sight of this very personal account of Jim's GPR alarm clock and is happy for all to see and share. It is indeed poignant to think about the inscription on Jim's alarm clock:- "Think of us from time to time" : your loving parents : Christmas 1943" and, as the article states ... probably the last time Jim Sharrock gazed into the face of this alarm clock was when it woke him up on the morning of Sunday, September, 17th, 1944. Good luck to you JJS in search of further information. Lindsay

I have been told there are coloured pictures that will be forwarded to me, so once they arrive I will let you see them. I have some snippets and apparently Jim was a good card player and had a sense of humour, but he was not the tidiest of people! I could have guessed the last one, he's on my mothers side of the family and that should be enough said! She has a planet named after her :Hydrogen: and she is the sole inhabitant! Chaos may reign around her, but she is steadfastly doing her own thing! and quite amazingly it is always annoyingly accurate! And I am very gratful at this point that she doesn't use the internet. :loldevil: Thank you all again for all your help and support, I did manage to make interplanetary contact :phone: with my mother yesterday and let her know about all your efforts. She is just as grateful as I am to you all and is keen to share Jims story with her sister and cousins who all remember Jim as man and boy. Regards JJS.
I just wanted to post these pictures sent to me by Geoff Teece who wrote the article that Lindsay posted. I have spoken to Geoff and he is happy for me to share them with you. I am delighted that he took the clock with him and photographed it at the Groesbeek memorial wall. A lovely addition to Jims file. www.ww2talk.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=788&pictureid=4480 http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=788&pictureid=4479 Thank you Geoff.
Wonderful photographs JJS - thank you for posting. David Brook the editor of The Eagle magazine might like to include one of these photographs with your article asking for help/further information about Jim. You have quite a file building-up now- lets hope more will come to light. All the best, Lindsay

Hi JJS, Here is the CO Glider Pilots file at Few a good few pages.... Cheers Tom Thanks TomTas, Have finally got around to reading the one's you sent, interesting but tragic. Have taken screenshots of this latest batch so more reading when time allows. I seem to be saying very little else but thank you these days! But until a more appropriate expression of gratitude comes along I'm afraid its all I can say. So, again, thank you all. JJS.
