Looking for more intel about Gordon Summers, Sergeant Flight Engineer, 83 Sqdn. Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, Service Number 1851198, Age 28, born on 19th October 1916 in Bristol, son of Arthur Summers (an Aluminium Press Stamp Operator) and Estella Summers(nee Bessant). Gordon had one brother Dennis A. Summers born in 1932. In 1939 the family was lived at Pendennis Road Mangotsfield, Briston. Died 08 February 1945 in a crash with his crew in a Lancaster above the Netherlands, coming back from an air bomb raid in Landbergen (Germany), when 2 Lancasters colapsed into the air during heavy and badly weather. I figured out that Gordon was living in Bristol (UK) and maried in 1941 with Doris E Brown at Bristol. Gordon is buried in the Nederweert War Cemetery in the Netherlands. If anyone can provide me more information about Gordon or a picture of him it would be great. The picture will be used in the commemoration of the men buried in the Nederweert War Cemetery and also in de virtual commemoration of the Cemetery.

Hi. His service number suggests that he enlisted in November 1942, in Oxford, if that helps. I'm not sure if you already have them, but I have copies of the ORB (Squadron Diary), which lists the crew etc. If you would like copies, please send me a private message and I'll get them to you somehow. Cheers, Andrew
