The Commission is in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave. Please note that this casualty was previously commemorated on the Brookwood Memorial; his name will be removed when the appropriate panel is next replaced.

Robert Bungay now has an updated CWGC record: https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/find-war-dead/casualty-details/2145422/robert-bungay/ His name does not appear in the regimental history: Valour Enshrined : Not Available : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive His death was after Indian Independence on 15/8/1947. I assume he died in the UK, perhaps from war injuries or had died in India and was returned home - which would be unusual. A mystery.
