From 2 Armd IG War Diary: 24 May 1945 Wildeshausen Painting continues - the old and battered tanks are looking quite sprightly again. It might be of interest to note that our first SHERMAN tank that we received at SHAKERS WOOD Camp in 1942 is still here in the Battalion. It has been hit and beaten up quite often but is still as good as ever despite its rough patchings and mendings. We should really be allowed to keep “BLARNEY” as a pet.
