I have an interest in military and family history. I am a member of WW1 forums and have a growing interest in WW2. My grandfather served in the RAMC and I have two great uncles who both served in the Royal Artillery, one of whom was a POW in Germany and the other was a POW in the Far East. My father-in-law also served in Burma and India.
Before you slip away from "New Threads" give us a clue what you are after. Just put you back on the list, almost slipped off!
Thanks. My grandfather was Major William Cunningham Armstrong RAMC. I have a copy of his commission stating he was serving in the Queen's Own Royal Glasgow Yeomanry. His obituary states that he commanded a Field Ambulance but I have no further information about which one. My Dad always said that he was in the Ardennes in 1944-45.
Just trying to get a feel for requirements, not my theatre of operations I'm afraid but there are plenty of people on the forum who will know more. Queen's Own Royal Glasgow Yeomanry - Wikipedia 52nd (Lowland) Infantry Division - Wikipedia Good luck in your quest.
