Hello to all... First, I want to thank you all for sharing your Informations. My Name ist Stefan and I`m 33 Years old. I`m from Germany, live in Hamminkeln. As you see in the Title, I´m very interested in the Operation Plunder, Varsity and all the other Oerations in the Area of Hamminkeln, Wesel, Bislich, Rees, Xanten, etc... Since 12 Years I went often outside for Metal-Detecting. Often, and nearly everytime, I find relicts from the Operations. I´m alsways interested in Maps from my area to find and locate. If anybody is interested, I will went outside (with a tip from you) to search and send reports back from the documented Things I will find. Even the Things I wil send if it is neccessary. (No Weapons, Ammo or other illegal stuff). But everything other I will send. Hopefully I hear you soon. Update: Field report 08.03.2012 finished http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/ww2-battlefields-today/43479-field-report-operation-varsity-landing-zone-%22n%22-german-aa.html#post484717 Best wishes, Stefan
Hello Stefan and welcome! A couple of times I patrolled this area by byke, always thinking that at first sight next to nothing reminds of a real complex military operation. Thought I should have been better prepared. But motorbyke and WWII researchs don't seem to fit snugly ... Byke season starts in the moment. Perhaps your input to the forum attracts me for another weekend day. Looking forward. Best wishes Aixman
Hello Lesly, stolpi, Aixman and Steve, 51highland, Thanks for your quick reply and your wishes. I think I will prepare some kind of a weekly report of my research in this case. At the moment I went 3 or 4 times a week outside and discover some places. Tomorrow I will went to a place in the north-west of Hamminkeln where nine AA-DP have been stationated. Once again, thank you for your wishes.
