I’m still researching CWGC casualties who are buried at Douglas Bank cemetery, Rosyth in preparation for a Doors Open Day tour next month. There is a single German grave of Leading Stoker Bruno Lange and I’ve found his death certificate on Scotland’s People. Bruno was a prisoner of war and died of alcoholic poisoning. I can make out “Between 11.45 pm on December 26th and 0 ? On December 27th on board German escort vessel F2? Lying in River Forth near ? Dockyard Rosyth” Anyone able to make any sense of the rest please? Many thanks, Dave
I can't really decipher the text either. But escort vessel F2 was almost certainly this ship: Flottenbegleiter F2 History
Thanks very much ltdan! That’s really interesting and nice to add a bit more to Bruno’s story. cheers
