I have for a long time uploaded my musings by copying the text and pressing Ctrl V. Recently this has worked but altered the spacing and ignoring indents or tabs. Some days ago I had trouble uploading at all and today the text appears and then disappears.

Any thoughts. Remember that I am a bear of very little technical brain and tend to be set in my ways.

I had the same issue some while ago, just could not type up in word and paste into the reply box. It has worked with this post. Re formatting I always find it goes to pot with copy/paste whatever forum I’m on.

Have you tried the other paste options; right click and select paste from the menu box, or Edit and paste from the menu bar at the top of explorer? You can also put copy and paste as icons up there as well.

I seem to recall in a previous incarnation the reply box had an icon that when clicked allowed paste after I'd been swearing at the screen for ages, but I can't see that option on the current post/reply box? In retrospect I don't think the swearing helped anywhere near as much as the icon.

Could you say what systems/browser you are using?

Sorry you're having a bit of bother here.

There really shouldn't be any issue.
The old software was a bugger for cut and paste, but this one is excellent at it.
That doesn't help, though, so... First things first: I'd think flushing cookies/cache had a good chance of clearing this sort of stuff.

(On this external composition and posting.
This system is surprisingly good at 'remembering' posts composed before hitting send. It gets saved as greyed out text if your browser crashes etc. Might be worth experimenting with as I've more faith in it than I ever had in the old setup.)

The adaministrator has it of course. When I reopened the thread to try some of the suggestions the text was there in the reply box again. With double spacing but...

    Thank you all.
