I am adding the following request on behalf of Theo Hooreman, Second World War Network (Scotland) member:
If you can help I have Theo's email address.

There are three other threads here which refer to Wambrechies, but they all refer to 1940. The commune is to the north of Lille. See: Wambrechies - Wikipedia

There is a current B&W map with zoom on: Monuments to the victims of the liberation battles

It appears the commune was liberated at the start of September, possibly by Polish troops. Wikie refers to adjoining Lille being liberated 2-4/9/1944. See: Lille during World War II - Wikipedia
