    Hi everyone

This is the only visual account of an ELAS attack on 23rd Armoured Brigade's Rear Headquarters on 13th December 1944. The drawing was made by Captain Eric G. Manning, RTR.

There is a truck in the middle of the picture and has what looks like a set of steps at the rear. Has anyone got any idea what this truck could be as its use may give a clue to who's unit it belongs to.

Units operating in the area at the time were HQ Squadron RAC/RTR. RASC Transport Coy and Workshops, RSC Signals Squadron, RASC Supply and POL Depot, RAOC Ordnance Depot, RE Field and Artisan Works Coy, Troop of RHA Field Guns, KRRC Mortar Platoon.

In fact anything else you see that might be deemed useful would be most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Gus

Eric Manning is quite an artist. He was the chap who did all the scenes and portraits in the booklet that the Royal Armoured Corps produced and issued to every person who served in Italy.
