I am looking to purchase a P37 style uniform as it's the one my grandfather would have worn at evacuation from Bray Dunes in May 1940. Tom (combover) has been so kind as to help me with most of what I need to get me started. I have attached a picture, my grandad being on the left. I believe this was taken in 1940. Can anyone identity what is on his appelet? Is that just a button. He was a sergeant at Bray Dunes so I am assuming he would have had his chevrons on then as well. Tom mentioned the RASC slip patch, would that have gonne above the chevrons or on the appelet?

See the chap second from the right? Look on his epaulet and you'll see he is wearing the slip on cloth title. That's where they go.

Haha, I said he was on the left he is on the right. Ok, and nothing on the shoulder above the chevrons then. Thanks again Tom. I replied to ur email about his job, his trade was driver in the RASC. Obviously the chevrons being on while in France as well?
